What do you mean "firewall is barfing?"

I think that the earthlink dsl might be part of the problem.

I mean that some setting on your firewall may be interfering with your Prelinger downloads. Shot in the dark guess.

I'm not familiar with Earthlink DSL. I use Verizon. Does Earthlink use packet-sniffing bandwidth throttling? I've heard some ISPs do that. They constantly analyze your traffic, and if an "abuse", as defined by them, is committed, your connection will be deliberately crippled.

Hi FP,

I use Verizon at my other location. This one, which is a share, has Earthlink. I spoke with Earthlink DSL earlier and they agree that connection is slow. I am set to speak with then again in ten minutes and will tell them that I routinely download multiple GB files so they'd better cut their throttling.
